What makes OUR selection of ESD flooring hard surface flooring unique? Many ESD flooring manufacturers LOAD their ESD Tiles and sheet goods with cheap fillers making them brittle and inner cohesive bond strength minimal. When it's time for your esd floor to go to work "long term" (especially upon heavy equipment loading or on an imperfect cement substrate) the esd tiles can break like a bargain basement dinner plate. Try this; take a sample of the esd tiles or VCT you are thinking about using in your facility, find a corner and bend it, now fold the tile in half. Does it break, flake and crack? If so, consider this, the same tile is installed, driven or rolled over with material handling carts, (possibly loaded with heavy equipment) will it break, flake and crack? It will perform just like your test and the usual answer is YES it can flake, break and crack very easily. Why? A typical 1/8" static control Vinyl Composition Tile has a compressive strength of a mere 75 PSI (per ASTM F970). Acceptable to United Static Control Products? NO. The ESD tiles we recommend have a compressive strength from 1,500 (2mm) to a whopping 2,500 PSI (per ASTM F970). Want proof?
