The air gun and power unit are wired for US standard 110 volt operation (optional 220 V available). For proper operation it's important that the gun and power unit be properly grounded. The prewired interconnecting cable between the gun and the power unit contains a standard copper (yellow green) ground wire which provides the necessary ground connection between the gun and power unit. A grounding stud is located on the power unit and must be connected to a reliable earth ground connection. Air supply pressure to the gun should be supplied between 15 to 100 PSI. Air contaminated with water, oil or particulates may clog the gun or cause a short circuit it is important that the supply air be filtered upstream of the gun. The unit's air hose is typically run adjacent to the interconnection cable and is taped to the cable to aid in easy handling of the assembly.

The G 4000 is not intended for use around flammable materials and solvents. For optimum operation clean the part with the nozzle held as close to the part as possible (without touching). Pull the unit away from the part to a distance of 200-300 mm (8 to 12 inches) and lightly mist the part for a period of approximately 2 seconds. When handling the gun grasp only the gun body to prevent undue strain on the cable assembly.

It's essential that the gun's electrode point be kept clean. It's easy to clean the emitter point by using an ordinary pencil eraser. With power off insert the eraser into the nozzle opening gently pressing the eraser down over the point and rotate the eraser. This simple operation will safely and quickly remove deposits from the electrode restoring the unit to optimum operating potential. Do not attempt to scrape the point with any hard or sharp object. the point must remain as sharp as possible for optimum operation. Replacement emitter points are available from United Static Control Products and easy to install. Typical emitter point life is 3 years.

The G 4000 power supply is intended exclusively for use with the G 4000 ionizer. The G 4000 power supply is a single phase unit that operates with an output voltage of 4kV (+/- 7%). Like many ionizer power sources a high voltage failure detection circuit is not incorporated into the power unit in order to provide optimum, uninterrupted performance. High voltage output is not interrupted in abnormal conditions such as short circuiting or sparking. To avoid abnormal conditions and premature wear of ionizer components and insulation regular inspection and maintenance is recommended. The G 4000 power supply is designed for single loading (1 unit per ionizer) and is provided with an indicator lamp and on off switch.
