Possibly you've just installed new static control ESD carpeting on your raised access floor.  Perhaps you've finally installed standard (high grade) carpeting in your sophisticated networked offices.  Either way you probably understand the need to protect your investment in electronics AS WELL as comply with the warranty requirements for your new carpeting.  Read your warranty, NO carpeting, including our state of the Art ESD Carpet Tiles are warranted from the continual abuse of rolling chair casters.  Simply put, without a mat your warranty is toast!  Here's the problem.  You may have just installed the epitome of ESD (static control) carpeting BUT when you place a standard chair mat on top of the conductive fibers you form an insulative barrier eliminating any possibility of charge decay through the insulative mat SO you find a anti-static mat on the web.  Some, don't even need a ground cord, GREAT you say but the truth of the matter is they are really smoke and mirrors! PLUS when they get worked HARD as in  24 / 7 service they break, warp or crack!

The problem with ordinary anti-static chair mats is they rely totally on ambient environmental humidity in the environment to render the clear plastic material even slightly conductive.  When the humidity is high (and when you need your mats to work the least) they may provide slight electrostatic conductivity.  When the humidity is low (and when you need your mats to work best) they simply STOP working! In essence their pretty much insulators, they just don't meet standards for TRUE static control protection NOR do they meet the stringent requirements of the electronic manufacturing industry, sophisticated networked offices or FAA / 911 control centers, labs or mission critical Military operations.

We start by providing a high grade standard matting selected for standard pile height carpeting.  If for use on ESD carpeting we provide grounding tabs that come into contact with the underside of the spike mat for subsequent grounding via you esd flooring.  in the case of standard carpeting we forego these tabs and provide a military style ground snap attachment for subsequent attachment of cord- to-ground assembly.
